Imagefilm der Gedenkstätte Bautzen

This image film introduces the Bautzen Memorial, its educational offerings, and its work focuses and themes. The Bautzen I prison – known as "Yellow Misery" – and Bautzen II – the Stasi prison – were used in the past to eliminate political opponents. This occurred during the National Socialist regime, the Soviet occupation, and the SED dictatorship. The former Bautzen II prison now houses the Bautzen Memorial. Permanent exhibitions on National Socialism, the Soviet special camp in Bautzen, and the Stasi prison provide information about the historical background. Selected biographies tell more about the prisoners and their stories, the prison staff, and the detention and working conditions. The film was produced by eineArt Filmproduktion (https://eineartfilm.de/) on behalf of the Saxon Memorials Foundation.
