04 Moonlight Serenade - The Ray Eberle Orchestra

There is an interesting story regarding "Moonlight Serenade," one of Ray's Vocals in this album. Miller's Melody with lyrics by Eddie Heyman and titled "Now I lay Me Down To Weep," was originally performed by the Ray Noble band and singer Al Bowlly. Years later when Miller wanted to use the music as his theme, he felt the original lyrics were too sad. So he turned to Mitchell Parish, who wrote the lyrics for "Star Dust" and he came up with uplifting, romantic words and the title. Ray's interpretation is both hopeful and romantic. Recorded at The Nola/Penthouse Sound Studios, New York City on March 19, 1957
