2012 KIA FORTE 2.0L ENGINE NOISE
I diagnose an engine noise on a 2012 Kia Forte with a 2.0L engine. After performing a spark plug inspection and a cylinder leakage test, I discovered leakage on #1 cylinder. Used inspection camera to find cylinder scoring on #1 and #4 cylinders. #1 cylinder being the worst and test results confirmed cylinder damage. It was determined that the engine noise is most likely related to cylinder and piston wear causing "piston slap". Customer declined repair do to parts availability.
