As part of an operational plan for the Southern District determined by the district commander, Major General Amir Cohen, on the main traffic routes yesterday, the Yoav unit's mobile unit fighters and the Israel Police's aerial formation operated against drivers who endanger their lives and the lives of the public. During the activity, the police's aerial formation identified a vehicle driving erratically on the traffic routes near Lahavim, while overtaking vehicles on the sidelines at high speed. The Yoav unit fighters and volunteers operating on the routes received directions from the air and after a stubborn police chase, the vehicle, which contained two suspects, was arrested. After the vehicle was arrested, the two suspects began to flee on foot and were arrested by Yoav unit fighters and Rahat police station detectives. The two suspects, residents of Tarbin in their 20s, were transferred for questioning to the Yoav unit of the Southern District police. Today the police will ask the court to extend their detention.
