“This A-4M Skyhawk, numbered ‘00’ and tail-coded QG 0024, represents the commander’s aircraft of VMA-131 ‘Diamondbacks,’ based at NAS Willow Grove in 1994.” This kit was a real challenge—complex and time-consuming—but incredibly rewarding. Unlike other builds, I opted for a lighter loadout with just two Mk.82 500 lb and two Mk.81 250 lb bombs to highlight the aircraft’s sleek profile. Finished in Vallejo’s Sky Grey, the color scheme brings out the compact yet powerful spirit of the Skyhawk, a true workhorse of carrier-based aviation.
