AMAZING PERU SALT MINES | Chinchero, Salinas de Maras, and Moray Peru | Cusco Day Trip

On this vlog, we are doing what we think is the prettiest Cusco Day Trip of all! We visit three different sites in the northwest part of the Sacred Valley Peru: 1. Chinchero Andean village 2. Moray Peru (or, specifically the Moray Ruins) 3. Salinas de Maras (or, the Salineras de Maras - Maras Salt Mines) The Chinchero colonial town has some of the best views overlooking the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and it is believed to be the mythical birthplace of the rainbow. There is a beautiful church that you must visit, as well as a colorful Peruvian textile market that rivals the Pisac Market. The Moray Ruins is an archaeological site that served as an Inca experimental farm during the sixteenth century. Different levels of platforms were created with different soil types, brought from all over Peru, as an experiment to try to create the perfect condition for farming in Peru. Finally, we went to the Salineras de Maras - or the Maras Salt Ponds. Maras Salt Mines Peru was built on a side of a cliff and have been in production for hundreds of years, producing the high quality Pink Marasal Salt. Keep in mind that if you want to visit this Peru Salt Mines, make sure to tell your driver that you want to visit Las Salineras de Maras Peru. The town of Maras Peru is located twenty minutes away, and the journey to Salineras of Maras requires extra fee if you happen to hire a driver. Looking for more day trips from Cusco?
