Furthermore, Eco-Drive 365 expands design possibilities compared to conventional light-powered watches by improving power generation efficiency and refining the hand movement pulse. 《Model that served as the design basis for Eco-Drive 365》 The Eco-Drive 365's design was based on the "Citizen Quartz E・F・A" quartz watch, released in 1973. *The "Citizen Quartz E・F・A" is no longer sold. ----------------- CITIZEN Eco-Drive365 Eco-Drive Model Number: BN1015-52E BN1014-55E ----------------- ◆Design Points The "Citizen Quartz E・F・A," which served as the basis for this design, features a full-flow design without lugs, and distinctive conical surfaces at 3 and 9 o'clock, and ridges at 12 and 6 o'clock. In designing this new model, we aimed to incorporate these features. For the new model, we've devised a design for the lug portion to ensure a smooth connection with the band at the 12 and 6 o'clock ridges. Another design point is the dial. The dial features four colors of glitter—blue, red, gold, and silver—inspired by a starry sky. ◆Hour and Minute Hand Design The center of the hour and minute hands features a mountain-shaped cut. The case and indices are similar, but in all aspects of the Eco-Drive 365 design, straight lines are the central motif. The hour and minute hands are cut in a mountain shape to create a consistent appearance of light reflection. The dial design embodies the wish that "by experiencing the light, you will understand that this is an environmentally friendly watch powered by light." ----------------- CITIZEN Eco-Drive 365 Eco-Drive Model Number: BN1010-05E ----------------- The BN1010-05E, limited to 1,200 pieces worldwide, is a striking model with an all-mirror case. Four rubies are set in the hour markers on the dial, and the gold bezel setting the markers gives it a unique, limited-edition look. The rubies used on the dial are lab-grown rubies developed using Kyocera's proprietary technology. The band is made of LWG* certified calf leather. *This international organization is comprised of three parties: leather brands, tanners (leather manufacturers), and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Certification is granted to tanners who meet rigorous criteria, including environmental considerations and safety in the manufacturing process. Citizen became the first Japanese watch manufacturer to join in April 2023. ▼Thoughts behind the limited edition model In the development of the Eco-Drive 365, the original base model had a leather band, so the leather band model was designed first. From there, the need for a metal band version arose, and the design process began. The leather band model features a fully mirror-finished case, which, combined with the dial's shine, creates a truly "special" feel. Furthermore, the leather band uses a buckle type, similar to those used in Attesa models, which allows for easy attachment and detachment.
