This performance was for our public chamber exam on 23 October 2025, in the Fismer Hall at the Conservatorium, University of Stellenbosch. Violin - Gilah Kellner Harp - Ricardo Hiniker Haru No Umi (春の海, The Sea in the Spring) - Michio Miyagi/Josef Molnar (1929 – 2018) Josef Molnar was an Austrian harpist, composer, arranger and actor. He founded the Karuizawa Music School, the Soka International Harp Festival, and the Nippon Harp Society and Competition. Residing in and performing as a soloist throughout Japan, he became known as the "Father of the Japanese Harp World". His Haru No Umi (春の海, The Sea in the Spring) is an arrangement of Michio Miyagi's 1929 piece, originally for Shakuhachi and Koto. The piece is inspired by Miyagi's childhood memories of the Sea of Tomonoura before losing his eyesight.
