Sirene da Fábica

In an exclusive video, Rubemar recounts the history of the siren from the old Camaragibe Textile Factory, known as the "Factory Whistle." Its sound, which could be heard up to five kilometers away, marked the city's routine: it woke the workers, indicated work shifts, and, with its final blast—the "Fiote"—hurried those running to avoid missing their shift. Immortalized in poetry by Noel Rosa, the traditional whistle has gained a new meaning at Camará Shopping. Today, instead of announcing the start of work, the siren greets customers and employees at the shopping mall's opening, preserving the memory and history of Camaragibe.
