CUIDAR a los que nos CUIDARON: GETAFE inaugura su nueva CASA SACERDOTAL y sede administrativa

The Diocese of Getafe has taken a historic step with the official inauguration of the new House of the Church, a building that centralizes the administrative activities of the bishopric and, above all, offers a dignified home for elderly and infirm priests. Conceived as a "house of mercy," this space seeks to provide care for those who dedicated their lives to serving others, allowing them to live out their vocation and fraternity in community until their final moments. On the program 'Ecclesia Al Día' on TRECE, presented by Raquel Caldas, the Bishop of Getafe, Monsignor Ginés García Beltrán, highlighted the importance of this project for one of the youngest and most populous dioceses in Spain. During the interview, the prelate shared moving testimonies about the perseverance and tenderness of the resident priests, emphasizing that, although memory may weaken due to illnesses such as Alzheimer's, their hearts and priestly identity remain intact. In addition, Monsignor García Beltrán analyzed the current challenges of the diocese, focusing on the initial proclamation of the faith and addressing new forms of poverty and migration in southern Madrid.
