Subscríbete:    / @cesarkero   Can mapping be done with a 360 camera and a 3-meter selfie stick? Yes. And I have tested it on a real site with OpenDroneMap. This video precisely complements the previous one, where it seemed that we could get somewhere and I needed to check it. In summary: I have recorded a section of walking at a slow pace through the Alday Marshes (Santander) with an Insta360 X5 on a 3 meter pole. Each frame of the video is converted into 5 perspective images: one nadir (90º down) and four oblique at -60 degrees. ODM reconstructs them as if it were a drone pass. The result: a well-reconstructed orthophoto but with some complications regarding exact positioning. This leads to one of the problems we will encounter: GPS for frame positioning. The other little big problem is the masking of...ourselves. This is a critical step, but luckily we now have free models of automated image recognition that allow us to "erase" ourselves from the photo. Let's go.
