Intercidades perde carruagem durante viagem que ligava Lisboa a Faro

The coupling connecting the two carriages broke. A CP Intercidades train traveling from Lisbon to Faro lost several cars between Grândola and Canal Caveira on Monday afternoon after a component—a coupling—that held the cars together broke. According to passengers on board, the other cars were stranded on the track, without power or air conditioning, and information about the incident was only released almost an hour later. Although there were no injuries, the situation is dangerous because the coupling failure causes the braking system, which automatically activates the brakes on each car. The stranded cars were eventually pushed by a Medway railcar, a company that transports goods between Setúbal and the Neves Corvo Mine. The Air and Rail Accident Prevention and Investigation Office (GPIAAF) has already opened an investigation into the incident. #portugal #train #portugaltrains
