Does a trip to Jeju Island really have to be by plane? This time, to celebrate my daughter's birthday, we drove ourselves from Yongin to Wando, loaded our car onto a ferry at Wando Port, and traveled to Jeju Island. At first, I was worried about the long drive and the ferry journey, but once we actually got back, the journey to Jeju itself turned out to be a special family trip. For this 3-night, 4-day trip to Jeju, we stayed at the Shinhwa World Shinhwa Resort and enjoyed Shinhwa Water Park and Shinhwa Theme Park. The Shinhwa Hotel was particularly convenient for a family trip with children due to its easy access to both the water park and the theme park. We also ate a lot of delicious Jeju food, ranging from Jeju black pork to sea snail kalguksu, perilla seed sujebi, meat noodles, lamb skewers, abalone noodles, and fried abalone. From boat fishing, go-karting, horseback riding, Dongmun Market, and the Goblin Road to the final beach, there were moments when things didn't go according to plan, but that made the trip even more memorable.
