Did you know that cycling helmets have an expiration date? In this video, I'm sharing a real experiment I've been preparing since 2022. I tested EPS foam (the material helmets are made of) to see how it ages outdoors and what happens when it receives an impact. We also crashed a real helmet that was over 5 years old to see if it truly protects you or if it's completely destroyed. We analyzed safety standards (EN 1078), the CE certification, and how protection systems like MIPS and Spiuk's ERT work. Your safety on the bike comes first! Don't risk it with an expired helmet.
