Pequeños gestos que cambian vidas | Mariano Oberlin | TEDxCordoba

From the Crucifixion of the Lord Parish in the Müller neighborhood of Córdoba City, Father Mariano Oberlin discovered that small gestures can help hundreds of young people who struggle daily to escape drugs and drug trafficking networks. His vocation has translated into extensive community work, benefiting nearly 500 young people in the area who attend vocational workshops and recreational activities. He has also established two residences where 15 young men live while undergoing drug addiction recovery. Through these efforts, Mariano seeks to help them "fall in love with life again." Mariano was born in the Comercial neighborhood of Córdoba, where he lived until he was 21, when he decided to enter the Major Seminary of Córdoba. In 2010, after serving in various parishes, he arrived at the Crucifixion of the Lord Parish in the Müller-Maldonado neighborhood, where he currently serves. Mariano was born in the Comercial neighborhood of Córdoba, where he lived until he was 21, when he decided to enter the Major Seminary of Córdoba. In this place, in addition to their usual tasks, they have worked with the community to provide opportunities for young people experiencing exclusion and marginalization, often linked to problematic drug use. Today, they offer several vocational, cultural, sports, and recreational workshops, serving around 500 young people from the area. They also have two residences where 15 young people are recovering from drug addiction. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
