Guided Inquiry #15

In this guided inquiry, you are invited to sit still, settle in, and look directly at your own experience. The meditation begins simply: noticing the body, the breath, the sounds around you, the temperature, the mind, and the many conditions that seem to define the moment. But rather than trying to improve or organize any of it, the guidance points toward something quieter—allowing this moment to be exactly as it is. As resistance falls away, attention begins to rest. The mind quiets not through force, but through disinterest. And from there, a deeper inquiry opens: without referring to thought, what is your sense of self? Where does it begin? Where does it end? Are there really separate parts to experience, or is everything appearing as one seamless fabric? Again and again, the meditation returns to a simple movement: letting go. Letting go of effort, searching, control, and the need to find something. What remains is not something new, but something always here—whole, quiet, effortless, and impossible to lose. Themes explored: Settling into direct experience Letting this moment be exactly as it is Relaxing attention and allowing the mind to quiet Exploring the sense of self without thought The seamlessness of experience beyond mental division Letting go of searching and striving Quiet mind, open heart Recognizing what is always here and cannot be lost A reminder: there is nothing you have to become, find, or hold onto. When the search falls away, what remains is what you have always been. ⸻ Timestamps (Chapters): 0:00 Settling in and noticing direct experience 1:30 Using the breath to return from thought 3:00 Letting attention relax and come to rest 5:00 Allowing this moment to be as it is 7:00 Letting the mind quiet by withdrawing interest 8:00 Inquiry into the felt sense of self 9:30 Experience as one seamless fabric 11:00 Giving up the search and all effort 13:00 Letting life be free of control 15:00 Who are you without thinking? 17:00 Remembering that nothing can be lost 19:30 What is it you think you’re looking for? 21:00 Who am I when I stop looking? 23:00 The recognition that what you are is already whole 25:00 Quiet mind, open heart 29:00 Thought comes and goes, but you remain ⸻ Stay connected: 🔔 Subscribe for more Bok Teachings 💬 Share your reflections in the comments ❤️ If this resonates, pass it along to someone who may need help
