CORREDEIRAS DE PIRAPORA: O desafio final! | Expedição Rio São Francisco (Dia 5)

On this fifth and final day of the 7th season of our kayaking expedition on the São Francisco River, we faced the most challenging 23 km yet! We departed from a freezing campsite towards Pirapora, Minas Gerais. The highlight of the day was the descent of the famous Pirapora rapids, where the water pressure and rocks demanded maximum attention and a lot of paddling technique. Besides the physical challenge, we passed through incredible landscapes and endless straight stretches that tested our endurance. To finish with a flourish, we arrived at the iconic steamboat Benjamim Guimarães, a historical symbol of the Old Chico (São Francisco River).
