Making a monitor stand and desk organizer

In this video I build a cherry monitor stand and desk organizer for my wife for Christmas. She’s been working at our dining room table on her laptop and I thought a secondary monitor and stand would improve her experience and productivity. The monitor stand is built from ½” cherry plywood and solid cherry hardwood using Festool Domino joinery. I have the Domino XL 700 with aftermarket accessories from Seneca Woodworking so I can use it with 5 mm Dominos. Alternatively, you could use the Domino 500 which is designed for this size loose tenons. The cherry plywood is edged with solid cherry banding, and I built two drawers using half blind dovetails for the fronts and through dovetails for the backs. For finish, I used two coats of shellac and three coats of water borne polyurethane and wax for the drawer sides and pockets. Please enjoy!
