Mexicola Avocado Review - Most Tolerant Avocado Variety! - Zone 9B
🌱 The Mexicola Avocado – Cold-Hardy & Delicious In this video, I’m showing you one of the most unique avocados you’ll ever find — the Mexicola avocado. This tree is famous for its incredible cold tolerance, able to survive temperatures down to around 18–20°F, making it perfect for growers in colder inland areas where other avocados struggle. The tree itself grows upright with beautiful, glossy leaves that release a natural anise/licorice aroma when crushed. It’s not only a productive tree, but also an attractive addition to any yard. The fruit is small, but don’t let that fool you — it has buttery, nutty flesh with a hint of sweetness and anise flavor. The skin turns deep purple-black when ripe and is so thin that you can eat it just like an apple or plum, skin and all! This makes the Mexicola avocado truly unique compared to common varieties like Hass. If you’re looking for a tree that gives you something different, is beautiful in the landscape, and produces some of the tastiest avocados around — the Mexicola is a great choice. 🌳🥑 ⸻ 📲 Follow me for more fruit tree tips and updates: TikTok: @eternodeivann Instagram: @eternodeivann
