W203 AUTOMATIC MERCEDES BENZ C CLASS GEAR SHIFTER MODULE PROBLEMS AND FIXING PART 1

When they are faulty, they cause the car not to start, if it starts it changes the letters on the dashboard like it is in a certain gear while the gear liver is in parking and when you try to put to drive, it would get stuck in gear two and you can not drive more than 20km per hour. Other sign is when on the dashboard show nothing on letter D ( Drive) and that also causes the car not to start. If all of the letters PRNDs shows then you can start the car and go, but along the way it will set itself into limp mode again and again because the issue is not fixed, once you stop and switch of your car; after a while when you come back to start the car, it would not start. You need to wait while the ignition key is on second position and keep on checking on letter D to reappear and then you can start the car and go. Limp mode was set in these cars to protect your engine from further damage to the systems of your car. Limp home mode shuts many chambers of the engine even air conditioner sometimes and fuel systems are adjusted for low speed performance.
