Hello. Today I will show you the decoupage technique on wood and I will use a carrying tray. I will decorate the tray with motifs from paper napkins, because they are thin and it is enough to varnish them only 1x. I could also use thumbnails from the magazine, but then we have to varnish these thumbnails several times, that is at least 10x. Procedure and instructions: 1. First, sand the tray well and clean it with a damp cloth. 2. I paint the outer part with acrylic paint, and wait 24 hours for the paint to dry well. 3. The next day I paint the inside of the tray with acrylic paint. 4. I prepare motifs from paper napkins. Each napkin has 3 layers and since I will be tearing the motifs, I immediately remove the two layers and use only the top layer for decoration. 5. To make it easier to tear the paper napkin, I draw lines along the napkin where I will tear with a handy water brush. 6. The motif is better applied with a plasticized base. This is a plain map. I turn the motif with my head on a plastic base. 7. Soak it well with water and smooth it with a fan brush. 8. Remove excess water. 9. Place the motif together with the base in the opposite direction on the tray and carefully remove the plasticized base. 10. I paint the surface of the napkin with decoupage varnish-glue, which is suitable for different surfaces, it can be applied to wood, glass, cardboard, clay, ceramics, plastic or canvas. 11. I wait for about 20 minutes for the varnish-glue to dry and repeat the process 1x more. I repaint the entire top surface. I wait at least 24 hours for the varnish-glue to dry completely.
