YOWERI MUSEVENI | The strongman of Uganda

Ugandan president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni takes oath of the office in Kampala January 1986. Museveni led an armed resistance against the government and the subsequent Ugandan “Bush War” between Museveni’s NRA and the government’s UNLA lasted from 1981 to 1986. Museveni overthrew Tito Okello who had ousted Milton Obote and installed himself as president on July 27, 1985. Okello lasted into power for only six months.
