Post-show talk with Ian Hallard & Mark Gatiss: The Way Old Friends Do in the West End
In the first of my post-show Q&As for the West End premiere of ABBA drag tribute band comedy THE WAY OLD FRIENDS DO, with writer and star Ian Hallard and his director and real-life husband Mark Gatiss, it felt like Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid were with us in spirit. Following a critically acclaimed and award-nominated Birmingham Rep premiere, Park Theatre London run and tour, THE WAY OLD FRIENDS DO has transferrred to the West End's Criterion Theatre for a strictly limited run til 9 September. In the late 1980s, two school friends from Birmingham tentatively come out to one another: one as gay, the other as an ABBA fan. Fast-forward 30+ years when they reunite and have the inspired idea to form the world's first ABBA tribute band...in drag! My second West End THE WAY OLD FRIENDS DO post-show Q&A will be on Monday 4 September with Ian Hallard and the rest of the cast, including Donna Berlin, Sara Crowe, Andrew Horton, Rose Shalloo and Anton Tweedale. 👉👉 Join us again on Monday 4 September!
