Cobra turns out to be a fun action platformer. The cutscenes, which I had to cut out due to copyright issues, are taken directly from the anime adaptation from the 1980s. It is clear that the development team has worked intensively with the source material. The game covers 12 episodes of the anime. As you progress through the game, you gain more abilities, making it worthwhile to revisit old levels to find the last collectibles. Sometimes the difficulty level increases rapidly, but the generous checkpoints prevent any major frustration. All in all, Space Adventure Cobra The Awaking is one of the better licensed adaptations.
