Bequest To A Village Sennan Lifeboat
An RNLI film from the late 1960's. Personally I think this is one of the best films of its kind as it actually tells a proper story based on the crew of the Sennan Lifeboat in Cornwall. The film jumps a little in the first couple of minutes but then settles down. The narration is by Anthony Quale and some of the lines to camera by the crew are wonderful, including, "the weather that'll feed a farmer, will starve a fisherman"!! Overall of all the many lifeboat films I have watched this is the one I can watch repeatedly as it so well evokes a time a place and a community. Oh and don't click off when you get to the credits as there is a little post script quote from Winston Churchill that is well worth hearing The RNLB Susan Ashley is now housed in the Lifeboat Museum in Chatham Dockyard Kent.
