Step inside Graterford max prison with Bernard Hopkins, training with boxing team run by Nudie Mims
In 1993, before he became a world champion, Bernard Hopkins would go to Graterford prison in Pennsylvania to train with the boxing team. Hopkins was once an inmate at Graterford. He said the sparring was good inside the maximum security prison but also felt by returning to the institution, he could inspire some of the inmates. At the time of the filming Amin Abdul Jabbar, aka Robert “Nudie” Mims, ran the boxing program, and, as it turned out, much of the prison. #bernardhopkins #maximumsecurity #philly #philadelphia #boxing #graterford #graterfordprison #nudiemims #robertmims #boxinghistory #phillyboxing
