Exploring the Depths of the Oceans: Victor Vescovo and the DSV Limiting Factor
Having completed the "Explorer's Grand Slam" by summiting the highest peak on each continent and skiing to both Poles, Victor Vescovo went looking for a new exploration challenge. He found it in the Five Deeps - the deepest points in each of the world's five oceans. To reach these places he commissioned the world's most advanced submersible, the DSV Limiting Factor, made by Triton Submarines. In 2018 and 2019 he and his team completed a global voyage to all five ocean trenches, and successfully piloted the Limiting Factor to the bottom of each. Today, the vessel is owned by Gabe Newell's Inkfish exploration and research foundation and it continues to serve the scientific community. Victor Vescovo guides you around the Limiting Factor and its support vessel, the DSSV Pressure Drop: • Ocean's Deepest Point Conquered - Guinness...
