After graduating from Matsusaka Technical High School in his hometown, he apprenticed as a carpenter at Ishida Construction at his father's suggestion. At the age of 28, he completed his first master carpentry job, becoming the 7th generation master carpenter of Kitayama Construction. Later, at the age of 34, he shifted the family business to a corporation, establishing "Kitayama Construction Co., Ltd." on May 21, 2001.
