Degli ebrei e dell’ebraismo. Un dialogo

At the Casa delle Letterature, Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 6:00 pm, presentation of the book "On Jews and Judaism. A Dialogue" by Riccardo Calimani and Riccardo Di Segni (Einaudi, 2022). Caterina Doglio will be in conversation with the authors. Ruth Dureghello will be speaking. Who are the Jews? What is Judaism? To answer these and other questions, two exceptional figures will engage in a genuine, not superficial, dialogue. On one side, Riccardo Calimani, essayist and scholar, certainly a "secular" Jew; on the other, Riccardo Di Segni, the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Rome. Both, in addition to their knowledge of Judaism, bring other skills. Calimani has degrees in engineering and philosophy of science. Rabbi Di Segni is also a long-practicing radiologist. Perhaps thanks also to this multiplicity of knowledge, the two authors, lifelong friends, manage to communicate the nature of Judaism through the many nuances and differences of their points of view. A necessary book, if it's true that part of the evil weed of anti-Semitism owes much to ignorance. The meeting is organized in collaboration with the Altroquando - Otherwise bookstore.
