DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, TOP Sights: Bahía de las Águilas, Santo Domingo & SALT MINES

Welcome to Part 3 of the series in The Dominican Republic. This Caribbean country has the best beaches, mountains, lush green jungle, waterfalls, salt lakes, vibrant culture and beautiful colonial towns. It's really worth it to escape from the luxurious hotels and explore the country. The best beach of the Dominican Republic, and maybe in the world, is Bahía de las Águilas. Check this out at the end of the video! Before we get there, you'll see us cruise the South Coast of the Dominican Republic. We explore the salt mines in Salinas, where we also walk the immense dunes that resemble a desert. We drive on to Barahona and enjoy freshly caught fish on the beach of this relaxed local town. Of course we'll also visit the Dominican capital Santo Domingo on the way back. Last time you already saw our little family settle down on the beach in hotspot Punta Cana, after which we explored the natural beauty of the Samaná peninsula. We went on a whaling expedition and hiked to the most awesome waterfall El Limón. On the country's best beach we were one with nature, at Playa Rincón. We took a boat to Bacardi Island. From there we drove along the North Coast to Puerto Plata, which is the oldest town in all of the Americas. Cristoffel Columbus first set foot on land here! We top it off in Monte Cristi, close to the border with Haiti. The climate changes instantly as we see sand dunes and rocks everywhere. On El Morro we have the best views of the West in the Dominican Republic. Our trip to the Dominican Republic is part of a great tour along all the Caribbean islands. We'll continue island hopping all the way down to Trinidad and Tobago. First you'll see us cruising around the Dominican Republic for another two weeks. Next up will be Puerto Rico, Saint Martin, Anguilla, Saint Barth, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Antigua, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Grenada, Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago.
