■ Kaikoma-ga-take is a 2,967m-high mountain straddling Yamanashi and Nagano prefectures. ■ Senjo-ga-take is a 3,033m-high mountain, both of which are included in Japan's Top 100 Mountains. ■ Marishiten is a 2,820m-high rocky peak rising just west of Kaikoma-ga-take. 　Named after Marishiten, the goddess of military fortune, it's apparently a popular spot for its rocky landscapes and views. ■ Wateneko's Difficulty: [Kai-Koma-ga-take] Tough for complete beginners. Recommended for those with advanced beginner or intermediate skill levels. ★★★★☆☆☆ For day trips, the Marishiten route is recommended, passing through Futagoyama in the opposite direction from the one in the video, rather than the direct route. (Limited to the climbing season, early July to mid-October) [Mt. Senjo] There are no difficult sections, so anyone with the stamina to climb for at least three hours is welcome. ★★★☆☆☆☆ The route through Kosenjogatake (small Mt. Kosenjo) offers stunning views and is highly recommended. ■ Trailhead/Parking Location [Senryuso] Address: 1847-2 Hase Kurogouchi, Ina City, Nagano Prefecture *The parking lot used in this video is next to Senryuso. Parking Fee: 1,000 yen for up to 5 days Pay when you leave. ■ Southern Alps Forest Road Bus from Todai Park to the trailhead (Kitazawa Pass) https://www.inacity.jp/kankojoho/sang... [Train, Bus, and Taxi Information] From Ina Bus Terminal, take the JR Bus Kanto Takato Line to Takato Station, then take a taxi from Takato Station to Senryusou. From JR Chino Station, take the "Minami Alps Geoliner (seasonal service)" to Senryusou in 1 hour and 10 minutes. ■ Choeigoya Hut Open: Mid-June to Early November No reservations required for camping. I don't recommend this for complete beginners, but I think Senjogatake is doable for those with some experience. *The long route I took on Mt. Kaikoma was quite tough, so I recommend it for intermediate climbers. A helmet is not necessary for the Marishiten route on Mt. Kaikoma. A helmet is also not necessary on Mt. Senjogatake. A helmet is recommended for the direct route up Mt. Kaikoma. Mt. Kaikoma is apparently the location for a Southern Alps natural water commercial starring Hikaru Utada. Approximately 46,000 steps over two days. If camping in a tent, don't forget to bring rain gear for your attack backpack. If the weather turns bad, retreat promptly. The toilets at Todai Park are clean. The toilets at Nagae Hut are also quite clean considering they're temporary. Trekking poles are recommended for those with limited stamina or at my level. I also recommend the hot springs at Senryusou on the way back. Registration: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Registration closes at 7:30 PM) Fee: 800 yen It was a weekday, and there were around 20 people in line by the 7:30 AM bus. There were probably about 40 people waiting for the first bus at 8:05 AM... I was able to get on, but they couldn't fit everyone on one bus, so the next one came right away. *Please forgive me if there are any mistakes in names or anything.
