Boudjellil, At Abbas, Kabylie - Juillet 2022 - Partie 1

It was from Boudjellil that everything started, the conception, the birth, the development, … I lived there until my departure for other skies. I still pay homage to this village and will not stop doing so until I leave for other skies from which there is no return! These are photos and videos taken during my short vacation, during this particular summer of 2022, during which I lost my dear brother, Hanine. He had fallen, a second time, into a coma which will be fatal to him and which lasted almost a month, the longest in family history. Hanine, a proud Amazigh, who had dedicated his life to the service of Berber identity and culture. We will come back to it one day! I pay tribute to Mokrane Agawa, who reminds me, every time I hear it, of my late father, Ahcène, son of Mohand Cherif, son of Hmidouche. Both were born, moreover, the same year, in 1929. Mokrane Agawa will always remind me of my father, who asked to turn on the radio after the fasting meal during the month of Lent. At that time, the radio was tuned to the only Kabyle channel, Channel 2, which broadcast religious and spiritual songs during the holy month. Mokrane Agawa's voice echoed in every corner of the kitchen, an ancestral Kabyle building, called Axxam n Larbi, after an ancestor. Hearing the comforting voice of Da Mokrane, my father could not help nodding, cradling his head, … and sometimes accompanying him with his voice! Peace to their souls! Unlike the Kabyles who have denied their history and culture, Stina, a Finnish pianist and singer, will fall under the spell of Kabyle songs one day as she strolls through the streets of Helsinki. She will fall in love with the Kabyle culture, will learn and interpret songs of great masters like Mokrane Agawa, Idir, Ait Menguellet, Matoub, … Tigzirt, songs, not easy, from the Kabyle repertoire.
