Imogen Davenport, Conservation Director at DWT, presentation on the State of Nature in Dorset
Imogen, Conservation Director - Nature-based Solutions, at Dorset Wildlife Trust, introduces the State of Nature in Dorset, where we have got to and what do we need to do. We have a special situation in Dorset with its diverse geology. So we have our heathlands in the southeast of the county and in Purbeck. 12% of the remaining area of the UK's lowland heath is in our county. We have a really special responsibility for it. We have populations of all six of our reptile species. We also have our chalk downs with our chalk streams. A hugely rare habitat. Creating space for nature everywhere, it isn't just about designating sites. It is about aiming for abundance, not just survival.
