#Hiking #Beginner #Okeiyama While traversing Mt. Takagoi, I came across a mountain I'd never heard of before, "Okeiyama," mentioned in the guidebook. After researching it, I decided to traverse it, as it seemed like a fun and not too strenuous mountain. In conclusion, the walking and climbing distances were shorter than Mt. Takagoi, and there were various recommended spots, including boulders, ridgelines, and rocky areas. The parking lot is a little far, but it's spacious and you can park without worrying about it being full. I thought the only restrooms were at Shirahige Shrine, but I discovered a public restroom before going to Shirahige Shrine. I've introduced it here for your reference. The notable places were as follows: ・Shirahige Shrine: I was fascinated to see the votive plaques, over 100 years old, still standing there... ・Kanzashi Rock: View the familiar rock formations from the summit. Enjoy the spectacular view. ・Kokeshi Rock: A strange rock formation shaped like a kokeshi doll. I can't help but want to do that. ・Okeiyama: Climbing is fun, but it's also great to stand back and enjoy the mountain's shape! As you can see, even though it's a low mountain, there were plenty of places to enjoy it. On the other hand, unlike Takamitsuyama, it's not a place where you can see the scenery all the way, and it's mostly forested, so compared to Takamitsuyama, there are fewer places to see the surrounding scenery. (On the upside, you can traverse it in the shade.) Looking at the activity diaries of YAMAP followers, it seems like many people start from Takamitsuyama, but I think it's less strenuous and easier to return to your starting point if you traverse from Shirahige Shrine, like we did. ■ Recommended for beginners to Mt.
