Dialysis is a treatment that helps clean your blood of fluid and toxins when your kidneys are no longer able to do their job well. Needing to start dialysis can feel overwhelming and scary but dialysis treatments allow you to live. Myths: 1) The only option for receiving dialysis treatment is to travel to a center at least three times per week for hours at a time. 2) Dialysis is expensive or unaffordable for normal patients. 3) Due to time constraints, dialysis patients can't travel. 4) Dialysis patients do not have the time or energy to work. 5) As a dialysis patient, I will feel alone and will be a burden to my family.
