Moroni was Hopewell (Three reasons Moroni was part of the ancient Hopewell culture)

The Hill Cumorah in Western New York was occupied by the Hopewell at the time of the Book of Mormon. When Moroni buried the plates in 420 AD, that was in Hopewell territory in Hopewell timeframes. In addition, the burial of the plates within a stone box is a distinctive burial style used by the Hopewell and their Mississippian descendants. DNA evidence and archaeology also support a Heartland Book of Mormon geography.
