Hand Blown Whiskey Glass | Borosilicate Glassblowing Art Tutorial

This one’s inspired by the classic Glencairn shape, with a small stem, squat foot, and allows for a nice swirl in the hand. I wanted it a bit between a tasting glass and brandy snifter. Starting with a 32mm tube, I melt a blow tube onto the end and blow the shape out in three sections the front, back, and middle to shape the cup then flame cut the top off, and flare the lip with metal jacks. After that I make the foot from a large slug of glass, flatten it out, and spin it between my graphite paddles to shape the base. I add a slight beveled edge to the foot for a more stable base. Then I make a colored center section for the stem, melt that into the foot, melt the cup onto the base, and then put the finished glass into the kiln to anneal overnight.
