In Sogamoso, Boyacá department, Don Elkin Barrera has started a poultry project on his farm with a few Millefleur breed chickens, aiming to improve the genetics and obtain large, meat-producing birds. The chickens are currently fed an algae that reproduces very easily in a water reservoir built on his property, contributing approximately 30% to their total diet.
