Is Tibet the Most Mysterious Place on Earth?

Tibet. A land full of mystery, and one of the hardest places in the world to reach as a foreigner. For 10 days, we travelled across the Tibetan plateau, a high-altitude world of thin air, ancient temples, frozen lakes, and 6,000-meter peaks that look small next to everything around them. Up here the air can actually make you sick, and if it does, there is nowhere lower to escape. Tibet is often called the Roof of the World, and after travelling all the way to Mount Everest Base Camp, I finally understood why. We got incredibly lucky too, it had been closed for weeks because of snowstorms and opened the exact day we arrived. So what is Tibet really like?
