Federal Employees Retirement: Tips to Anticipate & Manage Serious Errors and Delays by OPM

In this video I summarize my last 13 months of navigating the FERS with the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM). From mis-adjudication of my entire FERS Pension, incorrectly concluding early retirement, 11-months without the FERS Supplement, incorrect calculation of my creditable service time, failure to properly include accumulated sick leave, and then four failed attempts to provide retroactive payment. After almost 12 months of steady engagement with OPM, I finally got most of the issues resolved except for the Federal and state taxes that were not consistently deducted from the 2024 FERS and FERS Supplement payments. That debacle still awaits me between now and April 15, 2025. In this video I will offer a few tips how anticipate and manage potential FERS calculation problems and the implications of serious time delays in the OPM adjudication process.
