The Waters of Oxalá represent one of the most beautiful and significant rituals of Candomblé, preserving the ancestral memory of the itan (story) that narrates the unjust imprisonment of Oxalá in the kingdom of Xangô and the path of reconciliation, humility, and renewal that gave rise to this centuries-old tradition. In this documentary, Ilê Asé Osum Jokô Omi Asé Bangbosé opens its doors to share moments of faith, devotion, and belonging experienced during the celebration of the Waters of Oxalá. Through moving images, testimonies, and records of the ritual, we follow a journey that unites past and present, strengthening the bonds between ancestors and new generations. More than a ceremony, the Waters of Oxalá are a teaching about respect, patience, unity, and the strength of tradition that transcends time. “There are waters that cleanse the body.
