Zebedeo John Opore was born in the year 1947 in Bomachabe Village, Riana Location, of Bonchari Constituency in Kisii County and was initiated into adulthood in the year 1959. He was the first born child of the late Boniface Mamwacha Kibari and the late Maria Nyabairo Mamwacha. He was a cherished brother to the late Stephen Chibeka Mamwacha, the late Esther Kwamboka Ngisa, Andrew Barongo, the late Peter Otimi, the late John Oyugi, and the late Joseph Ombui. Education, College and Professional training Hon. Zebedeo John Opore, a bright student from the onset, started his early learning class in 1957, at Nyamiobo DOK Primary School until class 4 where he passed the Common Entrance Examination (CEE). He then moved to Suneka DOK Primary School where he sat for his Kenya African Preliminary Examination (K.A.P.E) in the year 1964, and qualified to join Nyamagwa Boys Secondary School from form I to IV . He sat for East African Certificate of Education (E.A.C.E) where he excelled with Division 1 in 1968. He further Joined Kisii High School for Form V and VI and passed the K.A.C.E Examination. He then taught briefly at Suneka Harambee Secondary School before joining The University of Nairobi from where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 1975. He also did a Diploma as an undergraduate student where he earned Bachelor Philosophy Economics 1977-1978 of University of Nairobi. Hon. Z.J.Opore an education graduate student obtained a Master’s (MSc) degree in Economics from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom (UK) in 1982. ProfesSional Life Hon. Zebedeo John Opore worked in the Ministry of Finance & Economic Planning and Development as a Planning Assistant from 1975-1984. He also worked for Kenya Railways as a Principal Planning Officer 1984-1989. He then joined African Retail Traders (A.R.T) as a Manager from 1989 to 1997 where he resigned before Joining politics in 1997 and was elected Member of Parliament for Bonchari Constituency on a KANU Ticket. After the general election, in 1997 he was appointed and served as an Assistant Minister for Information and Broadcasting during former President Moi’s regime. He also served as an Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Lands and Ministry of Cooperative. In 2002 he was re-elected for the second term where he ran on a Ford People Ticket and served his constituents up to 2007. In 2013, he was once again elected to the National Assembly and served for the third term up to 2017. He was a member of Departmental Committee on Communication Information and Innovation. He led in style and servanthood leaving a legacy painted with many projects he initiated within the Bonchari Constituency which include: Schools, Health Centers, and Local churches, connecting many professionals to secure Job opportunities in public and private service, and Tarmacking Roads and Electrical connectivity to many homes. He also goes down in history as a leader who touched many lives, including That of students who benefited from his CDF allocations. However, following the 2017 and subsequent elections, he returned briefly to his private business. During that period, he was appointed as a Board member to the Kenya Revenue Authority.
