Is the 2025 Nissan Z Nismo REALLY Worth the Upgrade Over the Performance Model?

👋 So lets take a look at the 2025 Nissan Z Nismo alongside the Nissan Z Performance! If you are unfamiliar with the new Nissan Z lineup, the Sport is the base model, the Performance is the middle trim and the Nismo is the track focused version. MSRP on each car is going to be around a $10,000 difference. The Z performance has all the standard features with power seats, upgraded brakes, limited slip diff, manual and auto, and a sporty style. The Nismo takes it up a notch with manual bucket seats, Nismo tuned suspension and steering. Larger brakes, engine tuning and a nice body kit. For me the Nismo is the Z to get. It handles well and is a very high performance car. Drawbacks are that it's a bit stiff with no active adjustment. Suspension is fixed and can be a bit back breaking and you loose some amenities like heated power seats. The Z Performance is a good GT Sportscar. Suspension is soft enough to absorb bumps and is pretty forgiving on the day to day. I like how a manual is available too. Z Performance does feel a bit soft for my taste and the standard seats aren't that comfortable for people with long legs. But if you find those seats comfortable and are planning for this car to be an all around driver for daily use, the Performance trim has a good blend. If you really want a car that has an exhilarating driving focus and is on edge 100% of the time, the Nismo is the way to go! Nissan did a great job upgrading the Z in the Nismo trim to be an all out performance car with a track focused feel. So I think it's a great upgrade! Now it costs a lot and most dealerships aren't going to be doing any discounts. So expect to pay over $65,000. Z Performance can regularly be purchased with dealer discounts and you should have no problem buying one in the mid $45k range!
