Wolfe Creek Crater and Mimbi Cave Reef (Caravanning Australia)

Wolfe Creek Meteorite Crater National Park, Mimbi Caves & Mimbi Campground and the beauty of the ancient Devonian Reef ranges. We enjoy two distinctly different landscapes in this episode, from a dry desert landscape to Limestone ranges. South of Halls Creek, Western Australia and just on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert; while off-grid camping at the crater national park for three nights; we experience the stunning beauty of the largest meteorite crater in Australia. While the crater was unique, we move on to camp at the Community-run Mimbi Caves Campground and take a tour to the Mimbi Cave system. It's hard to imagine these limestone ranges have been formed by billions of small creatures in a once shallow sea between 350-375 million years ago. What remains is unique in form. Onward to a free camp called RAAF Boab Quarry, where we wonder through this special landscape exploring the weather-eroded rock forms and stunning Kimberley Boabs. This is caravanning Australia at it's best and were always on our Lap of Oz bucket list. None of these destinations and experiences dissapoint.
