Sri Lanka - Once the top social and economic indicator country in South Asia, it is now in dire straits. Due to its inability to repay huge foreign loans on time, Sri Lanka has been added to the list of defaulting countries. On the other hand, the country's tourism industry collapsed due to several militant attacks and the corona epidemic, declining remittances over the year, a food crisis over banning the use of chemical fertilisers in agriculture without any pre-planning, and lowering taxes has made a massive trade deficit in Sri Lanka’s economy which reduced the country's foreign reserves. On the other hand, in the last ten years, Bangladesh has started working on several infrastructural mega projects. Although the Padma Bridge was built entirely at its own expense, many speculate that the situation in Bangladesh may be similar to that of Sri Lanka in the future due to ongoing foreign loan projects including Padma Rail Link, Dhaka Metrorail, Elevated Expressway, Rooppur Nuclear Power Station, Matarbari Thermal Power Station.
