Manor Lords is a strategy game where anyone can feel like a true medieval lord. Develop your starting village and turn it into a large, bustling city, manage resources and production chains, and conquer new lands. Manor Lords offers complete freedom of city building—rotate and place buildings anywhere you like. The construction mechanics are based on the principles of real medieval towns and villages, when the formation and development of settlements depended largely on the landscape and the location of important trade routes. Start with a central marketplace and gradually expand, building residential, commercial, and industrial districts that respect the natural landscape. Build farms on fertile soil, select hunting grounds in wildlife habitats, and ensure access to wood and other resources necessary for construction and further development. Zone residential areas and watch as villagers begin to build their homes, fully in line with the historical feudal land tenure system. Each region will be further divided based on road layout and allocated space, and houses will be placed accordingly. Build additions to the backs of large houses to secure income and resources unobtainable by other means. Homeowners don't just pay taxes: they grow vegetables, raise chickens and goats, and provide themselves and their neighbors with everything they need, in addition to the production of your farms, pastures, and factories. Each season brings new opportunities and challenges: help your people harvest the bountiful spring rains and prepare for the harsh winter cold. From shoes to barley, from hides to honey—Manor Lords offers a vast variety of products and goods appropriate to their era. Materials must be transported and processed, and production chains must be established to produce goods. Be prepared to decide what's most important to you: satisfying the basic needs of your subjects or creating luxury goods, producing goods for export or weapons and armor for military campaigns. Resources are scattered across the map—and to access them, you'll need to expand your holdings and establish specialized settlements. Mining colonies will provide you with valuable ores, while villages specializing in agriculture, livestock breeding, and hunting will provide you with grain and meat. However, uncontrolled expansion will have negative consequences for the environment. Under the onslaught of civilization, herds of deer will abandon their forests, insufficient crop rotation will make the soil less fertile, and excessive logging will decimate your holdings. Sell surplus goods to traveling merchants or establish your own trade routes. Producing and exporting high-quality goods will earn you funds to develop your city, pay taxes to your lord, recruit mercenaries, and discover technologies for creating new industries, goods, and tools. Train experienced warriors who will fight side by side with new recruits from the people's militia. Soldiers will be needed to suppress unrest and combat bandits, as well as to capture and defend territory. If necessary, you can even hire mercenaries, though this won't come cheap. A deep diplomacy system will allow you to maintain contact with other lords and influence them using your influence and power. However, remember that these same lords have their own goals. They will approach you in the same way, and your response will determine whether your negotiations lead to war. Participate in real-time tactical battles, taking into account your soldiers' fatigue, weather conditions, and equipment status.
