Eighty-eight Meskhetian Turks evacuated due to the war between Russia and Ukraine were brought to Elazığ and reunited with their families who had previously arrived in the city. The evacuation of Meskhetian Turks stranded in the city of Kherson, which began in the war following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, continues. The 88 Meskhetian Turks, who have been waiting at the Russian border since October 31st, entered Türkiye via Georgia and were brought to Elazığ. The welcoming ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor Abdulkerem Abbasoğlu, Provincial Director of Migration Management Rıfat Çetinkaya, and the Meskhetian Turks who had previously been transported to the city. The Meskhetian Turks, brought to the Aşağıdemirtaş Temporary Accommodation Center, were welcomed with sacrifices and prayers. Reunited with their families and relatives, the Meskhetian Turks experienced emotional moments. The number of Meskhetian Turks placed in the temporary accommodation center has reached 2,639. Deputy Governor Abbasoğlu stated that seeing the children reunited with their mothers reminds them once again of the significance of their work, saying, “We are bringing our evacuated compatriots here in the best possible way, under the coordination of the Migration Management, and placing them in accommodations where they can be accommodated without any problems. We have witnessed the reunion of 88 of our Meskhetian compatriots, who have been waiting at the Russian border since October 31st, with their families.” The Meskhetian Turks, some reunited with their spouses, some with their children, and some with their relatives, thanked those who contributed to their arrival in Turkey. Gülçıhra Muzafferova said, “My son-in-law, my nephew, and our neighbors are coming. We have been waiting for them for a long time. May God bless Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. May God bless everyone who contributed to bringing us here. We are very pleased.” Eldar Muradov, who was reunited with his wife, who could not come because he lacked a passport, said, “It has been a month since we arrived from Ukraine. We thank our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for bringing my wife here.” Eldar Muradov's wife, Sevim Muradov, said, "We are reunited; we are very happy. Thank you everyone.
