Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their fruit. 6. Take wives and have children; let your sons take wives and your daughters take husbands and have children with them, so that you may increase in number there and not decrease. 7. Seek the peace of the city where I have sent you into captivity, and pray to the Lord for it, for in its peace you will be at peace. 8. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: To the prophets and diviners among you Do not be deceived, nor believe the dreams you have dreamed. 9. For they prophesy falsely in My name, though I did not send them. This is the word of the LORD. 10. Thus says the LORD: “When seventy years are completed in Babylon I will visit you and fulfill My good word to you, and bring you back to this place.” 11. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for peace and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12. When you cry out to Me and come to Me in prayer, I will hear your prayers. 13. When you seek Me with all your heart, you will find Me and meet Me. 14. This is the word of the LORD: I will meet you and bring you back from captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and places from which I have driven you, and bring you back to the place from which you were taken captive.
