Fishing Live Greenbacks Around Mangroves - How To Catch Your Own Bait

In this video, I show you how to catch your own live bait (greenbacks, pilchards, threadfins, etc.) using dry chum and a cast net on a shallow grass flat. This technique is very affective at catching baitfish around the Tampa Bay area during spring and summer. After catching some white bait, I then started fishing and live chumming around mangrove shorelines. Greenbacks are one of the best baits for inshore fishing while targeting redfish, snook, and speckled trout.
