Bikepacking & Bushcraft Overnighter - Fire By Flint & Steel

Bikepacking and bushcraft are two activities I enjoy doing this time of year and a great way to experience the outdoors. In this trip I visit a site used in the neolithic era for flint working. After collecting some flint nodules I then head back towards to my camp site. On the way back I stop to split the nodules into flint flakes using some hard quartzite rock found by a stream. Later that evening I make a fire using the flint I collected by using a steel striker and char cloth (carbonized cotton) Learning new bushcraft skills when camping out is a great way to relax , cooking and sitting next to a warm fire on a chilly october night with a few beers...sublime.
